When on Google Earth 106

Sooo, I stumbled upon this little internet game the other day, here and had some time on my hands, followed the clues and viola… guessed correct which means that I get to host this next one.  As I didn’t want to start a new blog, and this is a blog for games, I thought I’d host it here.
My first choice I thought might be a bit too difficult from the pictures on Google so I am going with this picture below (which I hope, but fear, is not too easy.)
The rules:

Q: What is When on Google Earth?

A: It’s a game for archaeologists, or anybody else willing to have a go!

Q: How do you play it?

A: Simple, you try to identify the site in the picture.

Q: Who wins?

A: The first person to correctly identify the site, including its major period of occupation, wins the game.

Q: What does the winner get?

A: The winner gets bragging rights and the chance to host the next When on Google Earth on his/her own blog!

Good luck . .

We are looking at the island Monst St. Michel 48.6°N, 1.5°W
*6th and 7th centuries as an Armorican stronghold of Romano-Breton culture
    * the first monastic establishment in the 8th century
    * afterwards a monastery and stronghold until the french revolution

I figured it would be quick… Great Job Felix (and Geoff too…). Now that I know about this little game, I’m going to have to keep an eye on it.

Can’t wait to see where err… when Felix brings us.

Hi Dan, for an European, this has been a easy challenge. If I would have published a picture of the “North Bridge” in Concord, this would have been similar ‘difficult’ for you.
